The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested a man along with a firearm and ammunition in Balukhali camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, lateron Tuesday.
The arrestee is Abdus Sukkur, said APBn Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Farooq Ahmed.
The police officer said a group of miscreants tried to enter the camp and open fire on its residents Tuesday night. At the time, Sukkur was arrested in an immediate operation. A foreign pistol and three rounds of bullet were recovered from him. A case has been registered against Abdus Sukkur at Ukhiya police station.
