The price of a 12-kilogram LPG cylinder has been set at Tk1,459 for February, marking an increase of Tk19 from Tk1,478 in the previous month.
The new price will take effect at 6pm on Sunday.
According to the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC), the price of LPG per kg has risen by Tk1.60, reaching Tk123.16 from the previous Tk121.56 for the month.
The BERC further said the prices of LPG cylinders of various sizes, ranging from 5.5kg to 45kg, will also increase accordingly.
Additionally, the price of autogas (LPG used in motor vehicles) has been adjusted to Tk67.78 per litre from Tk66.78, including VAT.
However, the price of LPG marketed by the state-owned LP Gas Company will remain unchanged, as it is locally produced and accounts for less than 5% of the market share.
LPG reached its highest price in the local market in February 2023, when a 12kg cylinder was sold for Tk1,498.
