To align with international market rates, fuel prices have been increased by Tk1 per litre for February.
This information was announced through a notification issued by the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources on Friday.
Accordingly, the price of diesel and kerosene has been raised from Tk104 to Tk105 per litre.
Similarly, the price of octane has increased from Tk125 to Tk126, while petrol has been adjusted from Tk121 to Tk122 per litre.
The new prices will take effect from Sunday.
The notification said that, in line with the global market’s fluctuations in fuel prices, an automated pricing mechanism has been adopted to determine consumer-level fuel prices every month.
Based on this pricing formula, the fuel price for February 2025 has been adjusted to ensure the supply of fuel at a comparatively affordable rate.
