Despite improvements in the flood situation as rain subsides, 804,145 people remain without electricity as of Sunday.
The floods have damaged 11 Palli Bidyut Samity under the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) and five power offices of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) in affected areas.
A total of 15 sub-centres belonging to these two distribution companies are currently non-operational, down from 18 on Saturday.
As of Sunday, 780,746 BREB customers remain without power, compared to 924,266 on Saturday, indicating that the electricity supply is gradually being restored.
Meanwhile, 23,400 BPDB customers are still without electricity, down from 43,000 the previous day.
The number of 11kV feeders which still remained closed on Sunday is 133. On the previous day, the number of closed 11kV feeders was 160.
The flood affected 11 Palli Bidyut Samity areas include Chandpur-1, Noakhali, Feni, Lakshmipur, Comilla-2, Comilla-4, Chittagong-2, Chittagong -3, Cox's Bazar, Moulvibazar, and Bhola.
Earlier Brahmanbaria PBS was also affected by the flood. But the PBS is now out of flood, according to BREB statistics.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) statistics show that only seven 11kV feeders remained out of operation because of flood while 13 closed 11kV feeders resumed power supply showing improvement in power supply in the flood-affected areas.
The areas which were impacted by flood under the BPDB include Comilla, Chauddagram, Brahmanbaria, Chowmuhani and Feni.
Although water levels have begun to recede, improving the flood situation, six rivers in the country are still flowing above the danger level.
