CNG filling stations to remain closed for five hours from Tuesday

Anyone violating order will face legal action, warns Petrobangla

Update : 01 Mar 2022, 03:21 PM

The government has decided to keep CNG filling stations closed from 6pm to 11pm every day to keep gas supply uninterrupted for power generation.

The order comes into effect on Tuesday, said a press release by the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla).

The authorities in September last year had announced to keep CNG refuelling stations shut for four hours from 6pm to 10pm on the pretext of “gas rationing”.

Petrobangla said the decision to extend it by an hour had been taken to keep the supply of gas uninterrupted during the peak hours of power generation.

Anyone found violating the order would face legal action under the Gas Act, 2010, Petrobangla said, before expressing its regret over the “temporary inconvenience”.
