Several crude bombs have been blasted near the residence of Jubo League President Omar Faruk Chowdhury at Dhanmondi 8 in the capital.
Quoting the locals, Officer-in-Charge of Dhanmondi police station, Abu Bakkar Siddique confirmed the incident to the Dhaka Tribune.
Bakkar said: “A motorbike procession supporting the hartal, reached the spot around 7:15pm on Saturday.
At one point, they started vandalising the stand-by cars including a Midway bus and hurled four to five crude bombs in the area, he said.
During the time, locals chased them and detained three miscreants, the police official said.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and three detainees were handed over to them.
Preparation is going on to file a case against the detainees with the police station, he added.
