A mother and her unborn child died from injuries sustained in a bus crash in Kurigram, a day after the accident claimed the life of her six-year-old daughter.

The accident occurred around 8:30pm on Monday near Kathalbari Bazar in Kurigram Sadar.
Aduri’s six-year-old daughter, Monika Mali, was killed when a Dhaka-bound bus of Pingki Paribahan hit the autorickshaw carrying the family.
Aduri, her husband Ananta Mali, 26, and the autorickshaw driver, Mozammel, 29, were seriously injured in the crash.
Aduri and Ananta were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital that night for advanced treatment. Aduri died there the following morning. She was seven months pregnant.
Speaking to Dhaka Tribune from Kurigram General Hospital on Monday night, Ananta said he was returning home to Trimohoni in Kurigram Sadar with his wife and daughter after visiting his in-laws in Kulaghat, Lalmonirhat.
“Near Kathalbari, a Dhaka-bound Pingki Paribahan bus hit our autorickshaw, throwing us onto the road. Local residents rescued us and took us to hospital,” he said.
Dulal Chandra Mali said: “My granddaughter died last night, and my daughter-in-law Aduri, who was seven months pregnant, died this morning. My son is also in critical condition. We have lost everything. I don’t know where to seek justice or whether we will be able to file a case.”
