Update : 31 May 2014, 01:26 PM

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque has slammed BNP Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman for his comments on the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Tarique Rahman is ill-mannered in expression and he should be ignored as he is frequently giving out imprudent and absurd comments on the Father of the Nation,” the minister told the audience at a program in the capital on Saturday.

Dhaka Bar unit of the Bangladesh Awami Lawyer's forum organised the triennial conference.

Describing Tarique's comments made in the recent times as unrealistic, he urged the media to question whether they want to reestablish Bangladesh as Pakistan by resorting to such falsehood.

Food Minister M Quamrul Islam, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu also addressed the programme.

On Wednesday, BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman has claimed that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, was a failure in politics while Ziaur Rahman was successful.

The BNP leader made the claim while addressing a discussion on the 33rd death anniversary of Ziaur Rahman at Illford in London, UK.
