Preparations are underway amid rain for the rally of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Munshiganj.
The district BNP rally in protest against the “enforced disappearances, killings and abductions” throughout the country is scheduled to begin at 3pm on Wednesday.
This is the first Munshiganj visit of the BNP chief in over a decade.
The rally will be held at Munshiganj launch terminal.
Banners and festoons have been placed at several points to welcome her.
Munshiganj BNP President Abdul Hai was expecting an overwhelming crowd despite rain when he spoke to the Dhaka Tribune in the morning.
“Preparations are underway to accommodate a massive crowd,” he said.
District Magistrate Mohammad Saiful Islam Badal and Police Superintendent Md Zakir Hossain said all necessary security measures were taken for the rally.
