The district BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk road blocked programme for June 3 in the district, protesting the filing of false cases against 15 of their party leaders including district BNP President Wadud Bhuiyan.
BNP leaders announced the programme in a press briefing held at it's party office in Khagrachhari on Wednesday morning.
The leaders also declared to form a human chain on May 27 protesting the filing of false cases.
Police filed two cases Ramgorh police station on May 16.
BNP members including its district unit president was accused of launching attacks, collecting ransom, abducttion attempt and robbing houses of Jubo League member Nurul Islam and Mohammad Faruq on October 10, 2001.
Criticising the role of police, District BNP General Secretary Abu Yusuf Chowdhury said: “It is astonishing that two cases were filed on the basis of imaginary incidents that took place 13 years back.”
The cases were recorded to bar Wadud from politics, to satisfy the ruling party leaders and to harass BNP leaders, he claimed.
The BNP leaders also threatened to announce tougher movements if the false cases were not withdrawn immediately.
District BNP Senior Vice President Prabin Chandra Chakma, Organising Secretary Mustafizur Rahman Millat, Press Secretary Abu Taleb, District Chhatradal Secretary Ibrahim Khalil, among others, were present in the programme.
