The Awami League-backed candidate bagged the chairman post in Kamarkhand upazila in the district.
Abdul Motin Chowdhury, the AL-backed candidate, achieved 26, 591 votes while his nearest competitor, BNP-backed Abdul Aziz, bagged 16, 110 votes.
Assistant Returning Officer, also the UNO, Ishrat Farzana confirmed the election result.
