The Awami League-backed candidate bagged the chairman post of the Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh .
Motahar Hossain Talukdar achieved 47,416 votes while his nearest competitor, BNP-backed Ashraf Ali khan, received 38,835 votes.
Returning Officer, also Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh, Mollika Khatun confirmed the election result.
