Police yesterday foiled a BNP rally called welcoming its chairperson Khaleda Zia’s on May 14 visit in the district.
Sources in the district said Narayanganj city unit BNP announced the programme in front of its office and local leaders and activists gathered there in the morning.
However, a good number of police led by an executive magistrate did not set any loudspeaker in the party event.
Being angered by the interruption, the activists hold a human chain there.
ATM Kamal, secretary of Narayanganj city unit BNP, said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia would visit the district on May 14 protesting abduction, forced disappearance and killing across the country.
