Update : 10 May 2014, 07:37 AM

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that the government is responsible for the seven murders in Naryanganj.

He made the allegation after paying homage at Ziaur Rahman's grave in the capital on Saturday morning.

Fakhrul said: “The ruling party ministers and MPs are responsible for the seven murders in Naraynganj and it is clear now. They should be brought under investigation."

"Despite bringing them under trial, the government is now trying to hide the issue,” he added.

He said: "The government should resign as its involvement with countrywide killings and abductions, has been proved now."

The BNP spokesperson also urged the government to conduct a fair probe in order to try the "killers."

BNP Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman, Sechchasebak Dal President Habib-Un-Nabi, among others, were present.

On April 27, Nazrul Islam and his four associates and lawyer Chandan Sarkar and his driver were abducted and found dead in River Shitalakshya two days after they went missing.
