Gayeshwar, Aman denied bail again

Update : 27 Apr 2014, 09:27 AM

A Dhaka Court has rejected bail pleas of BNP leaders Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amanullah Aman in a case filed over killing a Shibir leader in the capital on December 29.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md. Jahurul Haque passed the order when advocate Sanaul Haque placed the bail plea on behalf of the BNP Standing Committee Member Goyeshwar and the party’s joint secretary general Aman Ullah Aman as their high court bail period expired in the case.

Meanwhile, this is the second time the court rejected bail pleas to the BNP leaders.

Earlier on April 21, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court sent BNP leaders Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amanullah Aman to jail after rejecting their bail petition in a case filed over killing a Shibir leader in the capital on December 29.

The court, however, granted bail to BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas in the same case for six months on health grounds.

The BNP leaders were shown arrested in a murder case filed with Rampura police for the death of a Shibir leader during BNP-led 18-Party’s March for Democracy programme on December 29 last year.
