At least three leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League of Rajshahi University unit have sustained injuries in a scuffle between the supporters of two rival groups on the campus on Wednesday afternoon over previous enmity.
The injured are RU BCL General secretary Touhid-ul-Hasan Tuhin, Kabir Hossain, a first year student of History Department and Murad Hossain, a second year student of the same department.
Witnesses said the fight ensued at Tukitaki Chhatar around 1:30pm while Kabir, a supporter of BCL RU unit president Mizanur Rahman Rana and Murad, the supporter of Tuhin, locked in an argument over a previous enmity.
At stage of altercation, they engaged into scuffle that left both of them injured.
During the scuffle, both Kabir and Murad were carrying sharp knife and firearms in presence of the law enforcers, claimed witnesses.
Later, Tuhin sustained injuries as he rushed in to bring the situation under control, said Tuhin.
RU Proctor Professor Tarikul Hasan visited the spot and clam down the situation.
