Local unit of main opposition BNP called a daylong hartal in Chittagong district for Sunday protesting arrest of two party leaders.
BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman made the announcement Friday afternoon.
On Thursday night, BNP Chairperson's advisor Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin was arrested from Shah Amanat International airport in the port city.
He was an accused in two violence cases of Chwakbazar and Kotwali police stations, police said.
Earlier on that day, BNP central Organising Secretary Golam Akbar Khandakar was also arrested.
