Special directives have been passed on to the law enforcers for the handling of subversive acts of terrorism like the disjoining of fishplates on railway lines, Junior Home Minister Shamsul Haque Tuku said on Tuesday.
Rab, BGB and police have been directed to take action against those responsible for carrying such acts, he said speaking at the ministry at around 1pm.
No matter how powerful and senior the leaders they are, they will be brought to justice, if found to be involved in such criminal acts. The law enforcers need not consider anything else, Tuku said.
He also urged people to cooperate with the law enforcers by providing them with information regarding the occurrence of such criminal acts.
When asked if the government was considering deploying the army to handle the situation, he said the ministry had not thought of that yet.
However, the Election Commission would do that if necessary, he added.
