Update : 15 Aug 2026, 04:22 PM

The BNP has expanded its highest policymaking body with four senior leaders, including Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed and Aman Ullah Aman, in a move aimed at strengthening the party’s top leadership and injecting greater organisational dynamism.

The party announced on Saturday that Rizvi, Aman, Farhad Halim and Mohammad Ismail Jabiullah had been nominated as members of the BNP National Standing Committee.

The appointments come as the party seeks to reinforce its organisational structure and broaden participation in key policy decisions.

Rizvi, one of the BNP’s most prominent public faces, has been serving as senior joint secretary general, while Aman is a veteran party leader with extensive organisational experience.

In a press release, the BNP said the nominations were made as part of efforts to enhance organisational dynamism.

The party said it expected the four leaders to use their experience, competence and judgment to provide advice and contribute to important policy decisions concerning both the BNP and the public.

The National Standing Committee is the BNP’s highest policymaking forum and plays a central role in determining the party’s political and organisational strategy.

The statement announcing the appointments was issued by BNP Assistant Office Secretary Mohammad Munir Hossain.
