BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday said that the state has been ruined by corrupt people and a responsible government must be formed to restore it.

The BNP leader urged people to participate in a proposed referendum, stating that it would reveal who truly supports reforms.

“Although many still do not fully understand the referendum, those who want reform must vote ‘yes’”, he made the remarks while speaking at a roadshow in Jagannathpur Union of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.

Mirza Fakhrul outlined BNP’s promises and said, “Through your vote, I want to work for Thakurgaon. Our leader, Tarique Rahman, has stated that the first step will be to provide family cards to five million mothers. Farmers will also receive agriculture cards, ensuring access to fertilizers, seeds, and water at fair prices.”

“Farmers’ agricultural loans up to Tk 10,000 would be waived along with interest, and debts owed by mothers to various NGOs would also be forgiven. “Within one and a half years, one million unemployed people will get job opportunities,” Fakhrul said.

Addressing the Hindu-Sanatani community, he emphasized inclusivity, saying, “There is no such thing as a minority. We are all citizens of this country. Stand up for your rights. BNP has always supported you in the past and will continue to do so in the future.”
The event was attended by BNP leaders and activists from various organizational levels.
