Hefazat-e-Islam has called for a mass rally in the capital on May 3.

The decision was made during an emergency meeting of the organizations central executive committee on Friday, reports Bangla Tribune.

Following discussions, the decision was made to hold a mass rally on May 3 in Dhaka, demanding justice for the 2013 Shapla Chattar massacre, the Pilkhana killings, enforced disappearances, the anti-Modi movement of 2021, and the 2024 student movement against fascism.

The organization also demands the immediate withdrawal of all false cases filed against Hefazat leaders and activists during the Awami League's tenure.

Additionally, it was decided to hold a national convention in June with representatives from all districts and metropolitan areas.

Another resolution passed in the meeting called for the state to ban the Awami League based on the findings of the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission report.
