BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman on Friday alleged that individuals engaging in extortion in the name of BNP are infiltrators from the ruling Awami League.
She made this claim during a discussion at the National Press Club in Dhaka, organized by Zia Projonmo, a pro-BNP platform.
Addressing the event, Selima urged caution within BNP ranks, advising against the inclusion of new members and stressing that the party must remain vigilant against infiltration.
She warned that Awami League activists are attempting to join BNP in various locations, aiming to disrupt its activities.
Selima Rahman also emphasized the importance of unity among BNP and its allied parties following their simultaneous movement, urging the nation to unite against the current regime.
She paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the students-people movement and criticized former prime minister Sheikh Hasina for clinging to power through violence, likening her actions to "genocide."
She reiterated the need for discipline and honesty among the younger generation, calling them the future leaders of the country. Additionally, she warned that former Awami League men are behind the unrest and chaos, further stating that BNP must remain alert to such provocations.
