The second namaz-e-janaza of former state minister for health, Mizanur Rahman Sinha, was held at Naya Paltan on Monday morning.
The janaza took place in front of the BNP central office, where party leaders and activists gathered to pay their respects.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, and other central leaders were present. Before the janaza, they reflected on Sinha’s political and personal life.
Rizvi said leaders like Mizanur Rahman Sinha should have lived longer, noting that he dedicated his life to the welfare of the country and its people.
He added that Sinha’s contributions to social development and the economy would be remembered.
Prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
His first janaza was held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament on Sunday, attended by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman and Speaker Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmad, along with cabinet members.
Mizanur Rahman Sinha died on Friday night, while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore. He was 83.
In his political career, he was elected to Parliament from Munshiganj-2 (Louhajang–Tongibari) as a BNP candidate in both the 1996 and 2001 elections.
After his 2001 victory, he served as state minister for Health and Family Welfare in the four-party alliance government led by former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
He also served for many years as BNP central treasurer and was later made convener of the Munshiganj District BNP committee.
