Central President of Gano Odhikar Parishad and former VP of DUCSU Nurul Haque Nur has urged not to allow any single party to go into power to avoid the rise of dictatorship.
He said: “No party should be able to monopolize the parliament, so we are demanding elections and seats in proportion to the number of votes it received, to value every vote of the people.”
By adopting this process, Nur said that the future parliament should not be gripped by one party and each political party should represent there.
Nurul Haque Nur alias VP Nur said this during his first visit to his district Patuakhali.
Recently his party was given registration as a political party.
He addressed as the chief guest at the reception on behalf of the District unit of the party at Jhautola Central Shaheed Minar premises in Patuakhali district town on Friday late afternoon.
He was accompanied by Central General Secretary Rashed Khan and some leaders of his party.
Nur said: “We have seen in the last 50 years what happens when a single party or an alliance comes to power alone. “
He said his party will place candidates aged 30-50 for all of 300 seats in next general election in the next election.
“The youth needs to be organized to build a digital and smart Bangladesh in the future.”
Those who want to be elected as MP, mayor of municipalities and chairman of upazila, must go to the people and present themselves before the people, he added.
Addressing the BNP leaders and activists, Nur said: "When your top leaders talk to us, they behave politely, take prior appointment to meet, but you are now behaving here like the previous Juta(Shoe) League, Muja(Socks) League. I request the joint forces to discipline you”.
Strongly criticizing BNP, he said: "Some 50 parties simultaneously protested for the downfall of dictatorship. But sadly, we can see the change in the face of BNP leaders and workers.”
He cautioned that if the BNP fails to realize, the neo-mafia, occupying, looting dacoits will also be resisted in the same way as the Awami fascist-mafia-occupational-looter-tyranny government was overthrown in the mass uprising of the students.
