Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party has been registered as a political party by the Election Commission (EC).
With this, the number of registered parties in the country stood at 45.
A notification signed by Election Commission Secretary Shafiul Azim was issued in this regard on Wednesday.
The notification state that AB Party has been registered as a political party by the Election Commission of Bangladesh until further notice.
The symbol “Eagle” has been reserved for the party and its registration number is 050.
Earlier on Monday, the High Court ordered the Election Commission to register Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party).
AB Party leader Monju remanded in subversion caseEarlier, the Election Commission sent a letter rejecting the party's application for registration.
A writ petition was filed in the High Court challenging the legality of the letter.
On August 31, 2023, the High Court issued a rule asking why it should not be directed to register AB Party as a political party.
