Obaidul Quader, general secretary of Awami League, on Sunday said there are no good people in politics.
“We have not been able to make politics interesting.'' he said at the tri-annual council session of Jatiya Party (JaPa) at Institute of Engineers of Bangladesh in Dhaka.
He added that no good people want to join politics now. “No educated, honest person wants to do politics. But they should. Otherwise, politics will lack character.”
Quader added: “My 17 years role as a minister is rare. I have been made the general secretary three times in a party like Awami League, and I have gained a lot.”
JaPa President Anwar Hossain Manju presided over the event. Awami League Advisory Council member Amir Hossain Amu, Workers Party Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon, and others were also present at the meeting.
