BNP allowed to hold Dhaka rally on 26 conditions

BNP activists have started to flock to Golapbagh ground after getting permission for rally

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has allowed the opposition BNP to hold a rally on the Golapbagh ground in the Sayedabad area of Dhaka from 12 noon to 4:30 pm on Saturday. 

DMP granted the permission on Friday after the party submitted an application.

According to the letter signed by Special Assistant to DMP Commissioner Md Tanveer Salehin Emon, 26 conditions have been set for the rally.

The conditions include- Permission must be obtained from the concerned authority for use of permitted place, all activities of the rally should be restricted inside venue, adequate number of volunteers (with visible ID cards) should be recruited for management, installing closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the venue, installing metal detectors for checking the delegates and following Covid safety guidelines while holding the rally, all the vehicles coming to the gathering should be searched, micro-phone, loudspeakers cannot be set up outside of the venue, projectors cannot be placed outside the rally ground, and more.

Meanwhile, BNP activists have started converging on the Golapbagh ground in the Sayedabad area after getting permission from the police to hold the party's mass rally.

The BNP on Friday afternoon finally got permission from DMP.
