BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and his father were razakars during Bangladesh's Liberation War, Awami League Presidium Member Shajahan Khan has said.
“It is a shame for the people of Bangladesh when Mirza Fakhrul claims to be a freedom fighter. When the war took place, he and his father took refuge in India,” he said at the triennial conference of Rangpur district unit Jubo League on Saturday.
Shajahan Khan also said that Mirza Fakhrul's father was the chairman of the Peace Committee, formed by the Pakistan government.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash said Bangladesh will be under the control of Jubo League after its grand rally on November 11.
“The leaders and activists of Jubo League will take over each and every corner of the country and will continue the Awami League government's development and democracy like a watchman,” he added.
He added: “BNP now talks about human rights, they actually have no shame. I lost my parents at the age of five and was deprived of justice for 21 years. BNP prevented that justice from taking place.”
He later called BNP leaders “hypocrites” and “deceivers” who have been cheating on the countrymen.
