He called upon the wealthy to distribute food among the poor while maintaining personal safety and hygiene

Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader says the government’s initiatives are inadequate to help day labourers affected by the coronavirus-induced shutdown.

He called on affluent people of society to help in mitigating the sufferings of the unfortunate, reports UNB.

“People who earn their daily bread with hard work have been hit hard by the social isolation enforced to prevent the coronavirus. The government has taken various initiatives to help the extreme poor, but that is not sufficient in many cases as many are deprived of these initiatives,” the Jatiya Party chief said.

“That’s why it’s now imperative to stand beside the poor who are in danger following the efforts to free Bangladesh from coronavirus,” he added.

Quader said people must find their humanitarian values during this global crisis, continuing: “The solidarity, brotherhood and compassion of people can relieve the hardship of the extreme poor.”

He called upon the wealthy to distribute food among the poor, maintaining personal safety and hygiene.

The Jatiya Party chairman also urged his party leaders and activists to help the poor as much as they can.
