The fifth National Vouncil of Gono Forum will take place on Friday as part of the party's move to strengthen its organizational capacity.
The council is scheduled to begin at Mohanagar Natya Mancha at 10am.
"Our President Dr Kamal Hossain will inaugurate the council by hoisting the national and Gono Forum flags and preside over the council session," said party Training Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam Pathik on Thursday, reports UNB.
He said over 1,000 party delegates from across the country will join the event. "The main council session will be held after lunch."
"It is our special council and we are arranging it aiming to revitalize our party and enhance its organizational capacity," Rafiqul said.
He said their party's new executive committee will be formed through the council.
Rafiqul said the council will end in the evening through the concluding speech by Dr Kamal.
The last council of Gono Forum was held on December 10, 2011.
