BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia felt dizzy, but she did not lose consciousness in the prison, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam says.
“Khaleda Zia fell on the floor on June 5 as her blood sugar level had gone low,” Mahbubey Alam told reporters at the High Court on Sunday, quoting the inspector general of prisons.
Earlier, a bail petition hearing was held in the High Court in an arson case filed against Khaleda in Comilla.
On Saturday, four physicians of the BNP chief met her at the old central jail on Nazimuddin Road and said she had lost consciousness on June 5 and might have suffered a mild stroke.
Khaleda landed in jail on February 8 after a special court sentenced her five years in jail in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
