BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed some people who identified themselves as members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police harassed BNP missing leader Ilias Ali’s family in their home on Monday night.
He made the statement on Tuesday around at a press conference held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan.
He said: “Some people banged on the door and demanded that Ilias Ali’s sick wife Tahsina Rushdir Luna open the door. She was frightened and called several members of the party and begged for help.”
Later, the people who came to harass the missing leader’s family went away seeing members of the press outside Ilias Ali’s home, said Rizvi.
Rizvi said: “BNP leaders and activists are being harassed even in the month of Ramadan.”
BNP Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal and BNP leader Abdus Salam were present at the program, among others.
