The BNP has announced that it will start legal battle to withdraw the ban on airing party's senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman's statements.
Party's acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the disclosure in a press briefing at party's Nayapaltan headquarters on Sunday afternoon.
The High Court on January 7 last year banned publishing, broadcasting or reproducing speeches, statements of Tarique Rahman in print, electronic and social media as long he remains absconding.
Fakhrul also claimed that the Interpol withdrew the "red corner" notice against Tarique rahman, who has been living in London since 2009.

The BNP leader said Interpol did not find any authenticity of the information against Tarique Rahman provided by the police on behalf of the government.
“Interpol in its own way investigated the information provided by the Bangladesh government but did not find any authenticity. They [Interpol] withdrew the red notice as they find the issue politically motivated under their article 3 clause,” he added.
Fakhrul also said at the same time Interpol headquarters also scrapped all the information on Tarique Rahman provided by Bangladesh government.
“Interpol has also asked its offices across the world to remove all the information from its database.”
Replying to a query, Fakhrul said, “Now we will take necessary legal steps so that his statements could be aired.”
Claiming that Tarique Rahman was implicated with August 21 grenade attack on “political motive”, Fakhrul said false and misleading information was provided to the Interpol saying that Tarique Rahman is absconding.
The BNP leader said Interpol issued "red corner" notice against Tarique Rahman on April 14, 2015 and then Londonium Solicitors Firm lodged an appeal to the Interpol head office.
“They [government] proved false while they were trying to stigmatise Tarique Rahman's political image and at the same time credibility of Bangladesh police is also being questioned.”
Replying to a query on Tarique Rahman's return, Fakhrul said: “It depends on his health condition. Tarique Rahman will return to Bangladesh when he will be physically fit.”
