Acting President and Speaker of Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will carry out his official duties from Bangabhaban while continuing to reside at the Speaker's official residence within the National Parliament complex.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter.
Special security measures have been in place since Friday afternoon at the Speaker's official residence and surrounding areas as part of the Acting President's security protocol.
The Speaker assumed the role of Acting President on Friday under the Constitution after President Mohammed Shahabuddin resigned, citing health reasons.
According to Shairul Kabir Khan, the Acting President will begin his official engagements on Sunday. At 11:00 am, he will lay a wreath at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar to pay tribute to the country's fallen heroes.
He will then visit the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar at 12:30 pm to pay his respects and offer prayers.
