Missing CUET student found dead

A student of the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has been found dead a day after going missing at sea. The body of Nakib Mohammad Khabbab, 24, was caught in a fishing net at Sitakunda's Chhoto Kumira Wednesday afternoon – seven kilometres from where he had gone missing on Tuesday. He was a student of the Civil Engineering department's 13th batch. Wasim Azad, station officer of Sitakunda Fire Service Station, told the Dhaka Tribune that the CUET student had drowned when bathing with six others in the sea. Fire service and the Navy launched rescue operations but were unable to find till he turned up in a fishing net. Nakib's body has been handed over to his family, Wasim said.
