Two sisters slaughtered in Jamalpur

Police recovered bodies of two sisters with their throats slit from their Deoliabari residence in Jamalpur Sadar on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Bhabna, 14, a grade nine student at Puglai Mannafia High School, and Nurunnahar Rukna, 10, a grade two student of a kindergarten, daughters of Bangladeshi expatriate Shahin living in Malaysia. Jamalpur Police Superintendent Delwar Hossain said they are yet to find the reason behind the murder. The bodies were sent to Jamalpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy. According to witnesses, locals found the throat-slit bodies lying on the floor inside their residence in the morning and informed the police. The mother of the deceased, Taslima Begum, went to her father's home in Jamalpur town leaving her two daughters at their Deoliabari residence alone. No other family members were present at home when they were killed.
