Four members of the same family were found with their throats slit in Naogaon’s Niamatpur upazila early Tuesday.
The incident took place in Bahadurpur village under the Bahadurpur union.
The deceased were identified as Habibur Rahman, 32, his wife Popy Sultana, 25, their son Parvez, 9, and three-year-old daughter Sadia Akter.
According to locals, neighbours entered the house after noticing the door open following Fajr prayers and discovered the bodies inside. Police were later informed and rushed to the scene. Locals suspect the killings may have been linked to a land dispute.
Popy’s father, Moazzem Hossain, demanded justice, saying those responsible for the murders should be given the death penalty.
Niamatpur police station Officer-in-Charge Mahbubur Rahman said police recovered four bodies from the scene and the matter is being investigated.
