A daylong job fair aimed at promoting youth employment, skills development, and entrepreneurship was held in Naogaon on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam inaugurated the fair at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises as the chief guest. The event was jointly organized by Moushumi and Daai Moolik Unnayan Sangstha under the Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) project, with financial and technical support from the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).

Speaking at the event, guests emphasized the importance of skill-based training, employment generation, and entrepreneurship development to transform the country’s growing youth population into a productive workforce. They highlighted the role of the PKSF-supported RAISE project in enhancing the employability of unemployed and disadvantaged youth through market-oriented training and income-generating opportunities.

The speakers also stressed the need for communication, leadership, problem-solving, and workplace skills alongside technical expertise to succeed in Monday’s competitive job market.

More than 100 trainees secured immediate employment opportunities in sectors including IT support services, electrical installation, welding, tailoring, beauty care, graphics design, mobile servicing, refrigeration and air conditioning, plumbing, consumer electronics, and digital marketing.
