Businessman killed, 2 sons injured in Noakhali road mishap

A fertilizer businessman was killed and his two sons were critically injured when an oil-laden tanker hit their motorcycle in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Md. Shafiq, 60, son of late Mominul Haque and a resident of Sundalpur Union, reports BSS.

According to local sources and police, the accident occurred around 11:00 am in the Transmitter area of Sundalpur Union on the Sonapur-Kabirhat Road. A Kabirhat-bound Jamuna Oil tanker lost control and struck the motorcycle carrying Shafiq and his two sons.

Shafiq died on the spot and his sons-- Shakil (21) and Md. Eka (19)-- sustained serious injuries. Locals rescued the duo immediately and rushed them to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, where their condition is reported to be critical.
