Nine people, including two members of a question paper leak syndicate, have been arrested in Naogaon in connection with the primary school teacher recruitment examination. During the operation, 11 mobile phones, a wallet and cash amounting to Tk 37,948 were recovered from their possession.
They were arrested on Friday afternoon during a joint operation conducted by the National Security Intelligence (NSI) and police at the Nil Sagar Hotel in the town and the Porsha Rest House.
The six arrested examinees are: Md Abu Sayeed (31), son of Abul Basar of Bamin village under Niamatpur upazila; Sarwar Hossain (31), son of Lutfar Rahman of Chandipur village; Habibur Rahman (26), son of Farazul Islam of Jioli village under Mahadebpur upazila; Faruk Hossain (31), son of Lutfar Rahman of Malahar village; Ataur Rahman (30), son of the late Yusuf Ali of Qawmi Madrasa Para under Sapahar upazila; and Rehan Jannat (31), daughter of Razzak Sarker of Digha village under Porsha upazila.
The two members of the syndicate are Mamunur Rashid (41), son of Saleh Uddin of Shibpur village under Patnitala upazila, and Ahsan Habib (40), son of the late Moslem Uddin of Jioli village under Mahadebpur upazila. Another person arrested is Farazul Islam (48), a guardian, son of the late Lal Mohammad of Jioli village under Mahadebpur upazila.
The matter was confirmed by Naogaon Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tarequl Islam.
