A pedestrian named Haidar Ali, 75, was killed after being hit by a moving bus in Gopalpur upazila of Tangail
The accident occurred on Tuesday noon at Nobogram Bazar in Alamnagar Union of the upazila.
The deceased, Haidar Ali, was the son of the late Iman Ali of Jamtail village under Nagda Shimla Union.
According to locals, a passenger bus named Shalbon Super was heading towards the 201 Dome Mosque.
While making a turn at Nobogram Bazar, Haidar Ali attempted to cross the road and was struck by the bus, causing him to fall onto the paved road.
He was immediately taken to the Upazila Health Complex, from where he was referred to Tangail Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. There, the on-duty physician declared him dead.
Mamun Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Gopalpur police station, confirmed the incident.
