Due to a low-pressure system formed over West Bengal and nearby regions, the skies over Dhaka and surrounding areas are expected to be overcast with clouds. Light rain, accompanied by south-easterly to southerly winds at speeds of 10–15 km/h, is likely to persist.

Over the past 24 hours, 45 millimetres of rainfall have been recorded in the capital and its outskirts.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, this rainy spell may continue for the next several days.

In light of the situation, DSCC’s Waste Management Department personnel are working in all wards to mitigate waterlogging in affected areas under its jurisdiction.

Additionally, DSCC has urged residents to report any instances of temporary waterlogging to its central control room by calling 01709900888.
