Seven people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Kishoreganj and Brahmanbaria districts on Sunday.
In Kishoreganj, three people, including a college student, died in separate lightning incidents.
According to witnesses, Faruk Mia, 60, of Rasulpur village in Bhairab upazila, was struck by lightning while cutting paddy in a haor area around 4:30pm.
In another incident, Foysal Mia, 28, son of Yunus Mia from Srinagar union in Bhairab upazila, was killed by lightning while going outside during the rain in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Kabir Hossain, a student of Hazi Asmat College, died after being struck by lightning while working in a field in Kuliarchar upazila.
Dr Umme Habiba, a medical officer at Bhairab Upazila Health Complex, said all three victims were brought dead to the hospital.
In Brahmanbaria, four others were killed in separate lightning strikes in Akhaura and Nasirnagar upazilas.
Quoting witnesses, police said Abdur Razzak of Tekanagar village in Nasirnagar upazila was killed on the spot while cutting paddy in a field.
Shamsul Huda of the Beribadh area in the same upazila also died after being struck by lightning while working in his field.
Additionally, two more people, Jamir Kha and Selim Mia, were killed in separate lightning incidents in Akhaura upazila in the afternoon.
