A group of foreign investors visited the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone (BSEZ) located in Narayanganj on Tuesday, the second day of the Bangladesh Investment Summit.
In the morning, they toured the BSEZ in Araihazar.
According to sources, 36 investors visited Narayanganj on the second day of the summit.
Among them were 10 from China, three from Japan, three from Saudi Arabia, three from the United Arab Emirates, eight from the United States, one from India, and eight expatriate Bangladeshi entrepreneurs.
According to the organizers, on the second day, the authorities of Bangladesh Special Economic Zone Limited (BSEZ) presented the current state and future prospects of investment to the investors.
Afterwards, the investors inquired about the investment environment, product supply system, and infrastructure. They closely examined the facilities and working conditions.
Initially, the Swedish company Nilorn acquired a 10,000-square-meter plot in the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone. A contract was signed in this regard.
This marks a positive beginning of investment collaboration between the Swedish company and Bangladesh. Throughout the day, the investors will continue touring the economic zone.
Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, executive chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), said: “This is the year of reform. We want to bring investors and show them the new Bangladesh. This summit will provide a glimpse of what Bangladesh will look like in ten years. The perception of the world about Bangladesh will be changed through this summit.”
A four-day-long event titled ‘Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025’ began in the capital city Dhaka on Monday with the goal of increasing investment in the country.
