In line with Saudi Arabia, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday in 40 villages of Chandpur.
Followers of Sadra Darbar Sharif have been celebrating Eid in alignment with Arab countries for almost 95 years, including Sadra and nearly 40 other villages.
The current pir of Sadra Darbar Sharif, Md Arif Chowdhury, told Bangla Tribune: "Based on the sighting of the first moon, we observe fasting and celebrate Eid in alignment with the Muslim world. The moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, so the Eid prayer will be held at Sadra Madrasa Eidgah at 9:30am on Sunday. Additionally, Eid prayers will be held in various other areas as well."
Apart from Sadra, the villages where Eid will be celebrated on Sunday include Balakhal, Shreepur, Monihar, Bardakul, Alipur, Belchha, Rajargao, Zakni, Kalchha, Menapur in Hajiganj upazila, Shachnmegh, Khila, Uvarampur, Paikpara, Biga, Uttali, Balithuba, Sholla, Rupsa, Basara, Goalbhawar, Karaitali, Nayarkhat, Mahonpur, Eklaspur, Dashani, Nayargao, Beltali, and several others.
Additionally, followers of Maulana Ishaq Khan in neighboring districts such as Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Bhola, and Shariatpur will also celebrate Eid on this day.
