Due to heavy fog, eight vehicles—including passenger buses, a truck, and a microbus were involved in an accident on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred along a three-kilometre stretch from Zinglatoli to Amirabad Station in Daudkandi upazila, Comilla.
Eyewitnesses reported that a passenger bus lost control due to dense fog and veered off the road.
Another passenger bus and a microbus collided, severely damaging the front of the microbus, resulting in injuries to at least 15 people.
Several people were injured in the accident, though their identities were not immediately known.
However, no fatalities have been reported.
Ishaq Chowdhury, a local resident, said that visibility on the highway was nearly zero due to the heavy fog in the early morning.
Daudkandi Highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nurul Afsar said: "Upon receiving reports of the accident, police arrived at the scene with a recovery vehicle and began rescue operations. Traffic on the highway slowed down due to the accident, but after the fog cleared, there were no further issues. We received reports of 15 injured individuals, but upon arrival, we did not find anyone at the scene."
