Two children die in separate incidents in Chandpur

Two unnatural death cases have been filed, according to the OC Mohammad Mohiuddin Faruk

Two children died in separate incidents in the Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district on Thursday, police said.

In the afternoon, 2-year-old Mehezabien, daughter of Mohammad Ullah from Bepari Bari in Haripur village, suddenly had an egg stuck in her throat while her mother was feeding her a boiled egg with paratha.

She was rushed to the Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

In another incident, 1.5-year-old Md Rubel Hossain Munshi, son of Md Ishraq Hossain Munshi from Munshi Bari in Pirojpur village, fell into a pond near his house while playing with his friends.

After not seeing him for a long time, his relatives began searching and found him floating in the pond in the afternoon.

Hearing the screams of his grandmother, Nurjahan Begum, other family members rushed him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead upon arrival.

Hajiganj Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Ahmed Tanvir Hasan confirmed that both children had passed away before being brought to the hospital.

Their bodies were later handed over to their families.

Mohammad Mohiuddin Faruk, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Hajiganj police station, said that two unnatural death cases have been filed in connection with these incidents.
