Students of Jagannath University (JnU) staged a protest and rally to condemn the rape and murder of a Bangladeshi woman in Bangalore, India.

The protest took place on Sunday after the Zuhr prayer at the university's Shanto Chattar premises.

During the rally, the students chanted slogans such as "Break the Indian aggression, crush it to the ground" and demanded justice.

The students expressed their outrage, saying: "We stand for justice for our Bangladeshi sister. We are always subjected to discrimination. India continues its oppression against us, yet the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh is never held accountable. From Felani’s tragic death to countless other killings at the border, there has been no justice. We demand immediate action and accountability for all murders and atrocities. If justice is not served soon, we will be compelled to launch a stronger movement."

Mostafiz Rahman, a student from the History Department, said: "A Bangladeshi woman was raped and murdered in Bangalore. Since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, India has been spreading propaganda against Bangladesh. Such incidents are part of attempts to demean Bangladesh. As an independent nation, we cannot tolerate these conspiracies. We strongly condemn this heinous crime and demand fair justice."

Another student added: "It is inconceivable for any sane person to accept the rape and murder of a 28-year-old woman. India has repeatedly been involved in such incidents but has failed to take action against the perpetrators. If this negligence continues, we will be forced to organize a more intense movement."

Maksud, a student from the Islamic Studies Department, said: "Felani's murder remains unresolved, and India continuously meddles in Bangladesh’s affairs. They aim to destabilize our country. We protest and demand justice for our sister who was killed. The culprits must be brought to justice."

On Friday, the body of the Bangladeshi woman was found near Kalkere Lake in the Ramamurthy area of Bangalore.

Indian police suspect that she was raped and then murdered.

It is believed that the incident occurred on Thursday night while she was returning home from work.
