A human chain was organized demanding punishment for Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson for the United Sanatani Awakening Alliance and International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) organizer, and swift justice for the killers of slain lawyer Saiful Islam Alif.
The participants urged for justice to be ensured for the killers and for the Alif murder case to be transferred to the Speedy Trial Tribunal.
The event was held on Thursday in front of the Chittagong Press Club, organized by the Saiful Islam Alif Memorial Council.
Speakers at the human chain said Chinmoy Das incited the murder of martyr Advocate Saiful Islam Alif. On the way from the court premises to the jail, Chinmoy made a statement from the police prison van. His followers, who are terrorists, captured Advocate Saiful Islam Alif, brutally hacked him to death, and committed heinous violence.
They further stated that the accused terrorists in Alif’s murder case are still freely moving in public. They emphasized that their movement would continue until the killers are arrested and given exemplary punishment. Highlighting the slow progress of the trial process, they noted that thousands of lawyers in Bangladesh are demanding that the Alif murder case be conducted under the Speedy Trial Act.
The human chain was presided over by Advocate Md Anisul Islam and moderated by Advocate Md Naushad Ali.
