The bodies of two friends have been recovered from a lake in the 300 Feet area of Purbachal, Narayanganj, in the span of a day.
Authorities recovered the body of Suzana, a college student, on Tuesday and the body of Kabbo, a school student, on Wednesday.
Kabbo's s body was recovered from beneath Bridge No 4 in Sector 2 of Purbachal New Town, near the Kanchan-Kuril highway.
Kabbo was a 10th-grade student at Adamjee Cantonment School and College, while Suzana was a 12th-grade science student at Vashantek Government College.
The two were known to be friends.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Mehedi Islam confirmed the information to reporters.
In a press briefing, Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumder said preliminary investigations suggest the accident occurred due to the overspeeding of their motorcycle.
Kabbo's motorcycle was recovered from the lake during the search.
However, the police officer added that it could only be confirmed whether this was an accident or a homicide after an autopsy.
Earlier on Tuesday, police recovered Suzana’s floating body from the same lake.
A motorcycle helmet and a small bag were found nearby.
According to Suzana’s family, she left home on Monday afternoon, saying she was going to a friend’s house but did not return that night.
The motorcycle and helmet found with her body have been identified.
Kabbo's family confirmed that the helmet belonged to him.
Police said both Suzana and Kabbo were residents of Mirpur.
